- Our Math Class Culture includes mutual Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibilities, Fairness, Caring and Hard Work. Every student should believe that he/she can do well in math.
In our Room Mistakes are VALUABLE and welcome as they encourage brain growth and learning.
• *Be nice* means to be respectful of all school rules, school/individual property and, most importantly, respect for others. Every student should expect respect in our classroom and be willing to give respect in return.
• Be organized, punctual and to work hard : In order to make the most out of every class period, students are expected to be in their assigned seats and ready to start class when the bell rings. Students are responsible for coming to class on-time and prepared. Preparedness means to enter the classroom before the bell, heading directly to your seat, and have all required materials on the desk BEFORE the bell rings.Students are responsible to copy down from the board objective of the lesson, classroom and homework assignments at the beginning of the period. *Work hard* simply means to be actively involved in every lesson; follow classroom routine; ask questions, if something is unclear; volunteer to solve problems on the board, or to help student-study buddy during independent group practice; to complete all class and home assignments; and to attend extra after school help (if needed).

HOMEWORK POLICY :
Completing all Homework and involvement in class lessons are keys to success in Math classes. Homework will be given every day, Monday-Friday and it is not a punishment - but rather a necessary practice, which will help you to achieve the best results. Assignments will be posted daily. If you are out, please check for the information on the pages corresponding to your class or in your Google Classroom.
Here are a few other items regarding Homework:
• Homework should be done in pencil, then corrected in class with a pen. However, if you prefer to do your homework in pen, then please have another color for correction in class.
• Your homework grade will be based on completion, not the number of answers correct, unless noted. “Completion” means “Showing your work”. If homework is assigned from the Textbook, start each problem by copying it from the Textbook. Please also always show your work on all quizzes and tests. You will be given partial credit for problems for which you may have the wrong answer, but the “correct” set up.
• If you are having trouble completing an assignment, please “set up” the problem, do as much as you can and let me know when I check your homework the next day. REMEMBER: No Work, NO CREDIT.
• If you copy answers from the back of the book without doing the problems yourself, I will consider this as cheating and will treat the consequences accordingly. However, I encourage you to check your answers with the book AFTER you completed all work.
• Students are to assume all responsibility for any missed assignments resulting from any absence. If you have a field trip, you are still responsible for all missing work - please notify me about your planned trip a day before and take the next day assignment in advance. If you make-up the homework the next day after your absence, you will have a full credit ("100"); in case of no absence, or a field trip, make-up the following day will count as a "50".
- Grace period for a late homework is 1 day.
